Our local covered pangas are a unique fishing experience. Where else can you fish with world class fishermen for $225.00 a day for the entire boat? Many of our panga captains have been recognized as being fishermen of such quality; they have been featured in several magazine articles, ESPN, etc.

Spend a day chasing 200 pound plus tuna with Chico on the Llamarada, or with Aldolfo or Cheva on the Dos Hermanos boats, catching roosterfish to 80 pounds along our tropical pristine beaches. If you like to fly fish for sailfish, Captain Leonardo on the Fish–On will get it done.
Because of its speed and versatility, a panga is an ideal fishing machine for two anglers to have a great day on the water. You do not need to be on a half a million dollar yacht, because the fish only knows about the hook in the corner of its mouth.

The below prices are effective starting October 1, 2011. As for all the boats in the local fleet here, a standard day on the water starts about 7:00 at the municipal pier in Zihuatanejo, and you return about 2:00.

Many promoters and web sites advertise our standard covered panga as a "Super panga". They are not. We have only a few supper pangas here, and they are worlds apart from a standard covered panga. The two Gringo Loco pangas, and the Huntress are three of the most commonly known.
A super panga has a wider beam and is longer than a standard panga. It has twin engines, which have more than enough power to get you home in case one breaks down. Plus, a super panga can safely fish with 3 and even 4 anglers on board.
Price $300 for a normal day

All prices include water, sodas, a few beers, bait, ice, quality tackle, etc.
Operated by renown Captain Cali. The is a 38 foot twin diesel powered Luhrs cruiser, with an extremely wide beam and a spacious cabin, the "Had E Nuf" ensures a very comfortable ride for up to six passengers under any conditions. It is one of our newer and more luxurious boats here.

Cali is one of the best captains in the area and year round, even though he is not a perfect 100% to catch the targeted species, he is as close to a guaranteed thing as you can get.
The "Had E Nuff" charters for $500 a day including 1st class tackle, cut bait, beverages, drinking water, ice, and fishing license.
Captain Jaime Morales Cortez owns 4 Bertram cruisers, ranging from 31 to 38 feet. It does not matter if you are on the 31foot Vamonos, 34 foot Vamonos II, the 34 foot Vamonos III or the 38 foot Orion... these twin diesel powered cruisers will give you a great day on the water.

When Jaime is not himself at the helm, his personally selected and trained captains will put you on the fish. Like most of the best captains fishing here, with several charters a week, they get their information as to the hottest fishing areas from their own on the water experiences.
Also another great 34 foot Bertram is the Rene, owned and operated by Jamie’s brother Rene.
The cruisers charter for $365, $425, and $500 a day and include 1st class tackle, cut bait, drinking water, beverages, ice, and licenses
Owned and operated by Captain Angel (Mecate) Cortés. This 36 foot cruiser is powered by two dependable Perkins diesels and has adequate room to fish 5 to 6 people. The Agua Azul is a trawler class boat with a cruise speed of 10 knots that raises fish better than any style of boat in the area.
Captain Mecate is 50 years old and has fished these waters all his life. He specializes in fishing for the exotic sailfish, usually working the areas 8 to 20 miles out of Zihuatanejo Bay. He will produce fish in quantity and it is not unusual for him to be high boat in the overall Zihuatanejo fleet on a consistent basis. Captain Mecate will give you the best possible chance for you to experience firsthand the fight of one of these spectacular acrobatic game fish.

The Agua Azul charters for $375 per day and includes quality tackle, cut bait, beverages, drinking water, ice and fishing licenses.

The Gaviota is owned and operated by Captain Martin Cortez (of the panga Isamar fame). Martin is absolutely one of my favorite captains here. The 35 foot cruiser, with Martin up on the fly bridge, will give you an excellent day on the water.

The Gaby is a 30 foot cruiser, with the late model Blue Bayou at 35 feet. Both are owned by Margarito Cortez and have first class tackle, refreshments, water and ice all provided. It is an ideal boat to target all the offshore species. Generally, Margarito is on the fly bridge of the Blue Bayou, with Rafa on the Gaby.

Client testimonial about Margarito: I would like to comment a bit further on the quality of fishing with Margarito and Rafa. I am a year round fishing guide in British Columbia, and although I am new to bill fishing, I can recognize an excellent guide when I see one. Captain Margarito has an amazing eye for details, ensuring that the teasers and baits were fishing just right and changing them frequently. His eye for raised fish is equally impressive, spotting fish long before I did, though I had my eyes peeled. He was constantly on the VHF and his cell phone with other captains figuring out where the fish were, and always found them. Margarito had a genuine desire to get us into fish and would switch tactics with confidence when the status quo wasn't working. All in all, it was one of the best crews I have fished with!
Finally, I would like to extend my thanks to you Ed. Your service enabled us to book with captains that were both qualified and that share our catch and release angling ethic. You were a pleasure to deal with and the extra little touches (like your dining guide and advice on what to do on non-fishing days) really added to the quality of the trip. So, thanks Ed! We would highly recommend your service to anyone heading down your way.
